An editorial in the Sentinel upon the value of our textbook,...
An editorial in the Sentinel upon the value of our textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy, reminds me of my debt of gratitude for this book, which has come to the world in fulfilment of prophecy. Over thirteen years ago I came into Christian Science through the impersonal teaching and the healing influence of Mrs. Eddy's writings. I was seeking the kingdom of God, hungering and thirsting for righteousness, and the teaching of these wonderful books answered my prayer.
I was then a very discordant woman, mentally and physically, having suffered for years from frequent agonizing attacks of neuralgia, but the "still small voice" of Truth, as I gained the spiritual understanding of Christian Science, healed me and so uplifted my thought that I was able to keep my family well, so that for over five years I had no help for myself or for my children from a Christian Science practitioner. I am more than grateful that even in the darkest hours I was never afraid to trust divine Truth as made known through our Leader's books. Thus have all my problems been solved, day by day; my family kept well and happy, while I gained a higher understanding of divine Love's power and presence, and of Truth's unfolding. I also gained a deeper, richer, fuller joy in helping others to overcome their sense of ignorance, fear, and sin, and their injurious effects upon the body.
I am more grateful than words can express to the dear woman who so unselfishly shared her wonderful revelation of Christian Science with the whole world, and that she has given it out so clearly and practically, for thus we may gain an understanding of Truth and prove it by bringing out the healing, as our great Master said this should be the sign of our discipleship.
