In Science and Health (p. 4) we read that...

In Science and Health (p. 4) we read that "the longing to be better and holier" leads to our awakening in God's likeness. This was my experience, and it led me to Christian Science. Some ten years ago I attended a Wednesday evening meeting at Helena, Mont., when I was so hungry for the truth that every testimony spoken was freely accepted, and I left the meeting healed both mentally and physically.

My second healing was during a regular Sunday service at First Church of Christ, Scientist, in this city, some six years ago. On the day and night previous I was quite sick, and on Sunday morning felt even worse, but my one thought was that my first healing had occurred during a service, and I felt sure that I would again be healed. I remember listening to every word of the Lesson-Sermon as given out by the readers, and when "the scientific statement of being" (Science and Health, p. 468) was read I could hardly stand upon my feet, though when the service was over I started to walk to my home, some four blocks distant, and when nearly home realized that I was very hungry. Not until then had it dawned upon me that I was healed. I am truly thankful for Christian Science.—Rose J. Seal, Salt Lake City, Utah.
