[Written for the Sentinel.]

"HE THAT KEEPETH ISRAEL"

WHEN under bright'ning morning skies
To its day's work the city wakes,
And men to all their problems rise,
Yet know the Love that ever makes
Life's burdens light and strength supplies,
There sounds o'er many a busy street
And all the human toil above,
The chime of bells whose music sweet
A message brings of peace and love.
