ENERGY

Energy, rightly understood, is a quality of the divine Mind. It is wholly spiritual and is never dependent on muscles, nerves, matter, or the so-called human mind. It is an expression of intelligence, and always operates intelligently and according to law. It is not a blind or a destructive force, neither is it a mere happening, but it is cause operating with infinite wisdom, it is an intelligent and natural effect of this good cause.

As activity is really an expression of divine being, or spiritual existence, it can never be separated from its cause, any more than a ray of the sun can be separated from its source. Thus activity and energy are scientifically expressed through man, who is the reflection of divine Mind. Mrs. Eddy tells us that the true Science of being is to "feel the divine energy of Spirit, bringing us into newness of life and recognizing no mortal nor material power as able to destroy" (Science and Health, p. 249).
