I feel impelled to give my testimony to the healing power...

I feel impelled to give my testimony to the healing power of Truth, from a heart filled with gratitude and love. I wish to acknowledge a few of the blessings which have come into my life through the study of Christian Science, in the hope that others may be helped along the way. Three years ago I was suffering from rheumatism, vertigo, and a stomach disorder, and had been ill more or less for the last ten years. Through a friend I was advised to attend a Wednesday night meeting. I did so, I saw the truth, and was healed. I was healed of rheumatism in three treatments, also of a severe case of blood-poisoning, affecting both legs. I was also healed of the tobacco habit, and the truth destroyed the liquor habit also. I can surely say that the eternal God is my refuge, and "underneath are the everlasting arms." I can also say that "divine Love always has met and always will meet every human need" (Science and Health, p. 494).

For all the physical healing I am very grateful, but I am even more grateful for the spiritual quickening which I gained through the study of the Bible and the text-book, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures." It has lifted me out of mental despair, and has given me "a God at hand," to whom I can go at all times,—the never-failing Principle. Our dear Leader reminds us that "we must seek the undivided garment, the whole Christ, as our first proof of Christianity, for Christ, Truth, alone can furnish us with absolute evidence" (Ibid., p. 142). Both my wife and myself have been lifted out of the sense of materiality to a spiritual plane never before attained, and we give the glory to God. I also desire to express my gratitude to Mrs. Eddy for bringing us this new-old truth. My daily prayer is for wisdom to recognize the divine leading, and to be able to demonstrate my faith by my works.
