THE LECTURES

Bicknell Young lectured in the Court Square Theater on Sunday afternoon, June II, to an audience of over seven hundred. He was introduced by Paul A. Harsch, who said :—

Standing in the beautiful temple of Herod, built for the glorification of the one God, but at that time, sadly enough, used for almost ever other purpose ; surrounded by the rugged and barren Judean hills and the hostile thoughts of those for whom he was about to make the greatest possible human sacrifice, Jesus expressed in never to be forgotten words the tenderest love and compassion for his people, when he used this beautiful simile: "O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, would I have gathered thy children together, even as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings, and ye would not!" Christian Science has come to this age with the same loving, comforting, and healing message that characterized all the teachings of the Master so many centuries ago; and it opens its arms to you today, extending the sweet solace of a God who is Love—Love infinite and eternal. — Correspondence.
