I had worn glasses for over eleven years, and could not read the largest print without them. A prominent eye specialist whom I consulted told me one eye was so affected that I would entirely lose the sight of it in the course of a few years. After I had been a member of the Christian Science church for two years, a testimony of the healing of defective eyesight, given at the Wednesday evening meeting, drew my attention to the fact that the reason I found it necessary to wear glasses for reading was due to the imperfection of my mental vision; I therefore first attempted selfhealing. My understanding, however, proving insufficient to overcome the erroneous beliefs of several years, I went to a practitioner, and after three or four weeks' treatment I was able to discard my glasses entirely. This healing was eight years ago, and my sight has since been normal.

In the summer of 1908, I had another proof of the healing power of Christian Science. I was at the seashore, and one day after bathing I was stricken with facial paralysis. I came to town to see the practitioner, and was completely healed in two treatments. A friend, who is a physician, staying at the same hotel, was astounded at the healing. He told me later that, according to materia medica, water had gotten into the ear and reached the facial nerves, and that he knew of no cure except months of patient waiting.

I am deeply grateful to God for many blessings, and above all for the discovery of Christian Science made by Mrs. Eddy, His chosen messenger, who has again shown mankind how they can be relieved from suffering and redeemed from sin.—Arthur O. Probst, New York, N. Y.
