In grateful acknowledgment of help received through...
In grateful acknowledgment of help received through Christian Science I lovingly submit the following testimony: About a year ago, I was awakened very early one morning with the most acute suffering in my arm, and found that I could not raise it at all. Several members of my family were expected to arrive next day to spend the holidays with us, and it seemed an utter impossibility to entertain them under the circumstances, for although the truth had never failed me in times past, yet in this instance the suffering was so great that it seemed I could hardly expect a rapid recovery.
Truth, however, did its work most beautifully and effectively, and help was received instanteneously. By five o'clock of the same day I was able to go to the home of a practitioner, and she advised me to let my plans remain unchanged. From that very moment all doubt and fear left my perturbed thought, and peace and joy were in their stead. The experience was no longer a physical difficulty to be overcome, but was rather the dawning in my consciousness of a new sense of Christmas morn, the Christidea had indeed been born there anew! In twenty-four hours the healing was practically accomplished, the uplifting having been such that no evil suggestion could thereafter make me afraid. The arm which had been useless war restored to its normal activity in a very few days, and this in spite of the fact that during the process of healing I had two bad falls, which resulted each time in seeming injury to the arm, but which were overcome by immediate help from the practitioner. It was necessary for me to assume certain duties during the stay of my visitors, yet I state with gratitude that I was enabled to do this, and the slight inconvenience to me was far outbalanced by the joyful consciousness that divine Love had indeed met my need.
I am deeply grateful for the help received during this experience, and I can only hope that these lines may go forth as a testimonial of grateful love to her whose purity of character made the revelation of Christian Science comprehensible to this age. She alone, since the days of Christ Jesus, has been able to proclaim to a sick and sinning world—with confidence undaunted,
