For thirteen years I was a great sufferer from what was...

For thirteen years I was a great sufferer from what was called a neuralgic affection of the bowels, with an abnormal growth. This latter trouble became so much worse that I had to submit to an operation at least once a week, besides taking medicine daily. I also suffered from stomach trouble in its worst form, being able to eat but very little solid food. During all this time I was under the care of physicians, none of whom gave me any hope of getting well; even the relief was very slight. As I suffered constantly in body and mind, I felt that I had not much to live for.

About four years ago a friend asked me to try Christian Science, telling me of the great help she had received through it for her children, and that she thought I could get relief. She told me of a practitioner who had benefited them, and finally I was persuaded to try the treatment. The morning after my first treatment I found that neither medicine nor surgery was necessary, for normal action of the bowels was established. I decided to take a week's treatment, however, and on the third day the growth which had so long troubled me came away, much to my surprise. I was also completely healed of the stomach and bowel trouble. Later on, anxiety and worry over domestic affairs caused me again to call on the practitioner, and divine Love enabled me to rise above it all. There has been no return of these ailments, and I feel very thankful to God, also to Mrs. Eddy for this blessed truth which indeed does heal all our diseases.

I want to mention one other demonstration of the truth which was a great blessing to me. It seemed necessary I should have my teeth extracted, but I was in great fear of the pain and suffering, so, after making an appointment with the dentist, I went to a practitioner and asked for treatment. I was treated absently, and all fear left me, so that I was able to have nine teeth extracted at one sitting; and the rest of the twenty-three were removed at the second sitting without any pain or suffering. I felt happy and well when I arose from the chair, and the dentist said, "This is wonderful."
