Christian Science has no kinship whatever with hypnotic suggestion. "Suggestion" depends entirely upon the exercise of the human will, while the practice of Christian Science is in accord with the Scriptural teaching, "Not as I will, but as thou wilt." It is a Christian and scientific method of yielding to the influence of the divine Mind.

Every effort of a Christian Scientist is based upon the understanding that God, good, is the only real power, and that consequently evil is not power. To do evil, one is obliged to make an immediate and complete departure from Christian Science, and resort to an evil subterfuge. So long as one adheres consistently to the practice of legitimate Christian Science, he can never do wrong or evil.
