Twenty years ago I witnessed the power of a Christian Science treatment, when my father was given the first natural, peaceful sleep in several weeks; but although this proof was unmistakable, the opposition of relatives prevented a continuance of the treatment. Eight years ago this spring I again witnessed the power of Truth as demonstrated in a Christian Science treatment, and fully realized that it was something which I had not found in all my looking into various isms. Then I began to read Science and Health. that I might know for myself the nature of this wonderful power which seemed akin to that of Jesus in his great healing. After a few hours' reading I knew I had found the truth referred to by Jesus when he said, "And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free;" for it does make free indeed. Since that day I have never for one moment doubted that if we obey the teachings of Jesus, as they are explained by Mrs. Eddy, his every promise will be fulfilled. I have been praying and working daily for that new understanding of God which is knowing, and when I am obedient, faithful, and honest in my thinking, the result has ever been sure, — the manifestation of more harmony than before. Physical ailments too numerous to mention have been cured, including two cases of a fever in its worst form; also a predisposition to throat trouble and almost constant colds; fear, hate, hate, sorrow, and sickness have been banished, and in their place faith, love, joy, and health are established, with improved conditions along all lines since I have been relying upon God alone.

Words, written or spoken, cannot half express the loving gratitude and thanksgiving constantly welling up from my heart to the brave, courageous woman who has given us the key to the kingdom of heaven the truth which has guided my thoughts from the dawn of my spiritual awakening, comforted and encouraged me until I could stand alone, up to the present time. The work is glorious, and my one desire is to be worthy to follow the standard of Christian. Science.
