My heart overflows with gratitude to our beloved...

My heart overflows with gratitude to our beloved Leader for Christian Science, and for the many blessings that have come to me through the understanding of God as given us in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures." It is about a year since I called upon a Christian Science practitioner for help for a serious eye trouble. I had worn glasses constantly for four years and could not see to do anything without them. I had my eyes treated for some time by an eye specialist, but with absolutely no benefit. Through the help of the dear practitioner my eyes were perfectly healed in four weeks, for which I am truly grateful. Right here let me add that the healing of my eyes impressed the eye specialist so forcibly that he has read several articles on Christian Science, and asked where he could buy a copy of Science and Health, as he wanted to read it. He said if it was what it appeared to be he wanted it, and was willing to give up his profession if necessary. This too, makes me very happy.

Christian Science found me in the depths of sorrow and despair, with thoughts of self-destruction. I did not expect to be lifted out of this trouble, for I had tried all known material means with no relief. Christian Science freed me from this bondage in one treatment, and it brought me peace and joy that I had never hoped to attain. While I am grateful for all this I am most thankful for the spiritual awakening, the understanding of God and man's relation to Him. To me this is beautiful, and it grows more and more so as I gain in the understanding of this glorious truth. For these and many other blessings and demonstrations of healing I am more grateful than words can express. Christ Jesus said, "If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you." Christian Scientists have the positive proof every day that this promise is absolutely true.

I am grateful for all the help and encouragement I have had in many ways. Words are inadequate to express my gratitude to our dear Mrs. Eddy, through whose loving guidance the way has been made so plain that all who desire to walk in it need not stumble or fall. I can only show my deep gratitude by consecrating myself to God, and striving each day to live nearer and follow closer the truth, and to let that Mind be in me "which was also in Christ Jesus."
