In 1896 my daughter was suddenly seized with severe pain in her foot, attended by swelling and inflammation. The affection was diagnosed by a kind and skilful physician, who spared no medical treatment for her relief, but the pain continued to be very acute. She could not bear her weight upon the foot, and used crutches for fifteen months. We tried many remedies, including massage, electrolysis, etc. Finally she went to a noted specialist, intending to remain in the hospital for treatment. This doctor, after examining the foot carefully, advised her to go back home, and our own doctor had minute instructions from this specialist for carrying out his directions. After this was tried she was no better, but had a severe attack of stomach trouble. From a material standpoint the disease seemed to be incurable. Her brother, in another place, having heard of some cases that had been cured through Christian Science, advised her to try it, saying she would not be hurt by it, if not cured. A friend had spoken to me of Science before, and I went to her for advice, with the result that my daughter wrote to a practitioner. The message of Truth and Love came bearing hope, though my daughter feared to follow the advice to get up and walk. It was almost two weeks ere she did this, and behold, she was well! The same day on which she walked she went off on a visit, stayed two days, and left her crutches at home. While on this trip she walked a great deal and found no more inconvenience than follows an unusual amount of exercise. She has not had the least return of this disease since her sudden healing eight years ago.

We have had some other cases of healing in our family through Christian Science. Best of all, my own way has been made clear, and I rejoice in the light which has come to me through the healing of my daughter, which led me to recognize God's presence always and everywhere.—Mrs. R.
