Gratitude impels me to write a few lines in acknowledgment...
Gratitude impels me to write a few lines in acknowledgment of some of the many benefits I have received from Christian Science. I was healed of acute rheumatic trouble in about two weeks' absent treatment. I had not been able to get a letter to my sister more than once or twice a week, the roads being so blocked with snow, so I did not send for treatment until I could not walk; and I had suffered so much by the time I received the first letter that I was helpless. It is a year and a half since I was healed, and I have been exposed to all kinds of weather, but I have never had a return of the illness. In May, 1906, a dear baby was born to us. The child was born at about three o'clock in the afternoon, and my sister, the same Scientist who had helped me before, was present. I dressed myself, and as my sister had to go home, I went about as usual, doing my regular work, and had tea ready when my husband came home at half past six, very much to his surprise. I was perfectly well and have done all my own work ever since.
Since I first started to look into Christian Science it has been our only help and has done much for all of us,—my three little ones, my husband, and myself. At the birth of my first child I had suffered greatly and my mother and friends thought I would die. I was then under medical treatment. The baby born under Christian Science treatment is now six months old, and I have never lost an hour's sleep with him. All who see him say they never saw a healthier looking baby. For these and many other blessings I am truly thankful to God, and to Mrs. Eddy. Science and Health with the Bible is my daily companion and comforter. I hope this will help some one as I have been helped by hearing and reading others' testimonies. I have mentioned these different experiences to show what Science has done and that it is the most reliable healer when given a fair trial. I hope to show my gratitude by living the truth as taught by our Leader in Science and Health and her other writings.
Mrs. Martha Ennis, Port Hope, Ont.
