For two years I suffered severely from what two doctors...

For two years I suffered severely from what two doctors called gall-stones. I then consulted a noted specialist, who called the trouble by the same name and told me there was no remedy known except an operation. As a neighbor who had the same trouble had died under the knife, I could not be persuaded to consent to the operation. I continued practically to look into to an open grave for over two years, when I heard of a friend being healed by Christian Science. I sent for his practitioner and began treatment. I was helped from the first, and after six weeks' treatment I was healed. My business is that of a builder, and this summer I have helped to build two houses and repair two, being in excellent health. I had not been a church member and for the last two years did not even attend service. Now I love the services of the Christian Science church, of which my wife and I have recently become members. I love to study the Christian Science literature, especially the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy. It is becoming more and more "a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path," for it brings a demonstrable apprehension of the Word of God.

I am very grateful that Christian Science has come into my life, bringing health and strength, and teaching me that God is my Life. I am very grateful to our beloved Leader, Mrs. Eddy. We would not have known this unchangeable, divine Principle, the understanding of which we can make practical every day to the betterment of our whole lives, except for what she has done. I am very grateful for having been led in the footsteps of Truth, which is becoming to me the All-in-all.
