I wish to tell of the healing power of truth over a burn...

I wish to tell of the healing power of truth over a burn from nitric acid. It was necessary to use this acid in removing a sediment from a cooking utensil, and in so doing I at first used a stick with a cloth on it, but it did not come off as readily as I wished, so I thoughtlessly took the rag in my fingers and commenced to scrub the vessel vigorously. Very quickly I commenced to feel the effects of the powerful acid, and to experience sharp pains, which soon extended to my shoulders. The pain was so intense that I had to lie down. This was about three o'clock in the afternoon; there was supper to get, and I was expected to play the organ at the testimony meeting that evening. I at once asked my husband, who was First Reader in the church, for treatment, and I also declared the truth. Within an hour all pain was gone; I prepared the supper as usual, and used those fingers on the keys of the organ that evening without any special inconvenience, although the nails and the flesh were discolored. There was no further manifestation of pain and the fingers soon assumed their natural color.—Mrs. Ella S. Harvey, Pocatello, Idaho.
