Ever since I was a very young girl I was sick and each...
Ever since I was a very young girl I was sick and each year growing worse, until about my nineteenth year, when my trouble became more serious. I tried first one doctor and then another, but all to no purpose. Finally an operations was suggested, and I was put under the knife three times with but little relief. At last the doctor under whose care I was said I had serious kidney trouble, and the only relief for me was to take ether when suffering pain. She also said that I must bear the pain as long as I could and then have another operation. Of course I was very much discouraged, when at this time I received a letter from a friend asking me to try Christian Science. I was bitterly opposed to it, but after much prayer decided to try it. I began to read Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, and it was not long before I was greatly relieved. In not more than two weeks my pain was nearly gone, and as I read and studied, and gained a better understanding of the truth, I was entirely healed. I am now in better health than ever before; am doing all the work for our family of four, and am trying to grow in the understanding of the truth each day, also to live it.
About two years ago our little girl was taken with a nervous trouble which became so severe that she could not hold her knife or fork while eating. We put her under the care of a Christian Science practitioner, and she was perfectly healed in seven weeks. We cannot be too thankful to our heavenly Father for revealing to our dear Leader, Mrs. Eddy, this truth which she has given to the world, this truth which does indeed make us free.
Mrs. Alice L. Sullivan, Exeter, N. H.
