I have long wanted to express my gratitude for what Christian Science has done for me and my family. God has indeed been good to us, in showing us the way, through our noble Leader, Mrs. Eddy. I was a sufferer for years from severe stomach trouble, appendicitis in its worst form, and several other ailments, but I was healed by the truth as revealed in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures,"—the truth that makes us free. When the practitioner was sent for, I could not turn over in bed, nor even move a finger, without pain; and I had not slept in weeks. I was so filled with morphine to deaden the pain that I could not hear when spoken to. After the first treatment I slept like a child and enjoyed my rest. In a little over two weeks I was out riding a bicycle. I had, from the age of fifteen years, when I taught a Sunday School class, firmly believed that we would know, sometime, how Jesus performed the healing he accomplished. After being so wonderfully helped, I was very anxious to get to work and prove for myself the Principle of Christian Science. My husband is one with me in the work, and though we have not demonstrated out of all the seeming obstacles, we know that God is faithful, and we know in whom we have believed. I have received much help from the periodicals and am deeply grateful to Mrs. Eddy for Science and Health, that inspired book which is revealing to so many the understanding that enables them to work out their own salvation. Our highest desire is that we may keep in the way pointed out to us and be worthy to be called Christian Scientists.
