Several years ago I had what the doctors called consumption. I was so weak as to be unable to sit up but a short time during the day, and at night I was troubled with the asthma so that I was unable to sleep lying down. I also coughed most of the time. As the physician who was treating me at the time passed on, my father was at a loss to know what to do for me. He was then advised by my aunt to try Christian Science for me, and although he knew nothing about it himself, he was willing to have me try anything that would help me. I received treatments some time without seeming to receive any benefit. Later, I learned that the lady who was treating me in the name of Christian Science was not a Christian Scientist, and I discontinued the treatment. She gave me much false literature, but did not speak of Science and Health. Through the advice of my aunt I made arrangements for treatment with a faithful Christian Scientist, and in eight weeks' time, after a hard struggle, I was healed.

The Bible and Science and Health are now my constant companions. My heart goes out in gratitude to God for all the blessings that have come to me through the teachings of Science and Health, given to us by our dear Leader.
