There was a day when the public was ready to believe that Christian Scientists said, "There is nothing ails you, for you have no head to ache;" but now the spontaneous inquiry is, Why does Christian Science grow so rapidly? How do they succeed in reforming the sinner, healing the sick, and placing the denomination on such a sound basis? How do they succeed in the face of the bitterest opposition from materia medica and theology that this country has ever known? The one who heals the sick in the understanding of Christian Science is the only one who can consistently undertake to interpret it, for "by their fruits ye shall know them." When results are good, the underlying rules which produce such results must also be correct and good.

Arguments never bring out the spiritual meaning of the Scriptures. Spirituality, not intellectuality, discerns the true meaning of the Scriptures. Dominion over human difficulties is the only satisfying evidence that what one believes is the truth.
