Truth Never Fails
No doubt many of us have heard people say that they do not believe the healing can be done now which Jesus did. Others will say they have tried Christian Science and were not benefited by it. We may also hear Scientists say they do not receive the help they should from Christian Science. One day I had a very good explanation of this kind of failure given me. The woman for whom I was working had a very heavy bedspread on which a bottle of stain had been spilled. I asked her why she did not remove it. She said it could not be removed; she had tried everything she could find and the stain was as bright as ever. I asked her to let me try. When she found what I was going to use, she said, "I have tried it, but you can try it to convince yourself that it is of no value in this case." So she gave me the article.
I went to work and in a short time brought her the bed spread free from stains. She asked, "How did you do it?" I told her that I had to apply more of the chemical, as the goods were heavy and the stain was deep; and she said, "Now I see why I did not remove the stain, it was because I applied it lightly. It then appeared to me more plainly than ever that this was why the stain of sin, sickness, and death is not always quickly removed; it is because the truth has only been lightly applied, for we know there is no fault in perfection.
