Through the teachings of Christian Science we have indeed been enabled to prove that "God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble."

Two of my sisters and I were in the Iroquois Theatre the afternoon of the fire, December 30, 1903. We were seated in the front row of the second balcony to the left of the center section. The fire started directly in front of us, and when we saw the cause of the unusual excitement, we immediately began declaring Truth, and remained quietly in our seats for some little time. It soon became apparent that we must go, all those around us having left their seats, and we started toward an open door on our left, just as the terrible draught blew the heat and cinders into the theatre.

I never for an instant ceased declaring the present protection of divine Love, and we certainly were led and protected, for we came to one of the main stairways and went out of the front door without encountering any crush or crowd.
