Before I had a knowledge of Christian Science I was...
Before I had a knowledge of Christian Science I was ill from exhausted nerves, and had headaches for several days at a time, when I could keep nothing on my stomach. I also wore glasses for weak eyes. In March, 1902, through the kindness of a Christian Scientist, I read some Sentinels and also the Journal.
It seemed to me from the outset that it was the religion I had long desired. I found that our God was not one of wrath but of divine Love. I became so interested and so desirous of being better that I soon found the light, and Easter saw no happier woman than myself. I sent after wards and purchased Science and Health, and that and my Bible are now my dearest possessions.
I no longer wear glasses; my headaches are things of the past, and in most ways I am a well woman, and I hope and believe that by right living I shall be in time entirely so. But for me the joys of Spirit were much more than the physical healing. I can now understand that "eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them love Him."
