In 1897 I was greatly benefited by reading "Miscellaneous Writings" by Mrs. Eddy, and later I purchased a copy of Science and Health. My demonstrations have been much in the line of business, though I have had many experiences of physical healing.
One demonstration in dentistry I wish to relate. My dentist told me that I must soon have two upper wisdom teeth extracted, as they were badly decayed. A great fear came to me that I would never be able to have it done, but the next thought was, "God is All," and "Perfect love casteth out fear." Each morning when I did my mental work for the day, I declared against the seeming mountain of fear that sought to hinder a perfect demonstration; and each morning as I worked, the fear grew less and less. Finally one morning it seemed time to go and I went, still declaring the truth. The teeth were both pulled without one twinge of pain, and they came out very hard as the dentist pulled and twisted them, but no sensation accompanied it. Afterwards the gums hung down, but divine Love was the healer, and in a short time they too were normal. My heart was filled with love and gratitude to God for giving us this help in time of need.
It seems to me that our new Concordance is one of most wonderful books I ever saw or used. The other evening some fear about superstition were expressed by a member of our household. I looked up the word superstition in the Concordance and found quickly enough statements of truth to quiet the fear.
