There is one special verse in the Bible which I early committed to memory: "Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst." The whisper of hope expressed in this verse often came to me in moments of extreme need with an intense yearning to know when, where, and how, this fully satisfying bread might be obtained.

For years, my life seemed summed up into one continual hungering to get well,—a hungering for something that physicians, medicine, the world, could not give.

That human cry for health was answered through a radical healing in Christian Science, a satisfying answer to years of seemingly ineffective prayer. That faint hope of the past is being fulfilled to me through Christian Science, in the gift of present satisfying food.
