One thing especially favoring the propagation of the Christian Science idea is that it approaches people with intentions that appear to be most benevolent in character. Its adherents are thoroughly Christian and are entitled to be regarded as among the most devoted believers in the Scripture revelation which all Christians honor and revere. This much alone gives them clear title to respect. For the rest, they are open to investigation, and this they profess to court. The day is passed when careful people wholly scout and disregard any subject which deeply engrosses the attention of large numbers of their fellow-beings, and already perhaps it may be said that those who think most meanly of so-called Christian Science are found almost wholly among those who know least about it and its claims. Involved in it somewhere, there may be—and those who believe there is are numbered by thousands—a germ which will develop into an immeasurable blessing to mankind.
