It is now a little over five years since I first heard of Christian Science through a sister who lives at a distance but was visiting me a few days at the time. She had her Science and Health with her, and as soon as I began reading it I was thoroughly convinced it was the truth. Although I believed every word of it, I was not healed instantly, as I had hoped to be. I tried to grasp it all at once, but Science and Health (p. 485), says, "Emerge gently from matter into Spirit," and I have had the lesson of patience to learn.

I had suffered with nervousness for several years, and was afraid of everything, especially myself. I am now almost entirely healed of nervousness, and was healed of constipation. Shortly after I began reading Science and Health, my little girl was also healed of the same disease.

There are no Scientists around here. I have never had the privilege of attending a Sunday service, and only one week-day meeting about four years ago. How I long to attend services, for I love Science. I have taken the Journal and Sentinel for several years, and also study the Quarterly. I have four children and none of us ever taste medicine. I cannot begin to enumerate the many little blessings that have come to me through the study of Science and Health. If any discord comes up for the children, they always come to me to be treated and they have treated me more than once with good results.
