Self-Analysis

Our humanity is a mine, and we are the miners. When we first find Christian Science, visions of joy and ease come to us, but this is in the surface soil. The "pay streak" goes down deeper, and we must follow if we would find the true riches.

As the shaft is sunk, constant analysis is made. Very often in the assayer's report we see besides the pure gold many baser parts and too often a high percentage of impurities.

As the ore is brought to the surface, are we fearful of analyzing it? If so, our dump will soon be all we have. We must be fearless, willing, if necessary, that what we consider "pay dirt" turn out to be valueless. If we are wise we will know that this is necessary development work, and do it. Many disappointments will come to the surface but as this refuse is cleared away we can hold to and follow the vein. Therein is our hope to be realized.
