When I turned to Christian Science for help, I was...
When I turned to Christian Science for help, I was well-nigh desperate. I had no faith that I could be helped, for more than one doctor had said to me, "Christian Science is all right for nervous troubles, but it can never help you, because you have something the matter with you." However, I consented to try it for the sake of some one else.
For twelve years I had been treated by reputable physicians, and yet the suffering grew worse. There was not a day that I was free from pain.
My healing has been slow. For a long time, I could not see that I improved at all, and it was not until I decided to be obedient to my practitioner that I could see results. If it had not been for the loving patience shown me by this good friend I should have given up in despair. But at last the light of Truth dawned on my consciousness and it is gradually growing stronger and brighter. I am deeply grateful for Christian Science, very grateful to Mrs. Eddy for the sacrifices she has made, and grateful to the pioneers, whose efficient work, has made so much easier the way for later Scientists.
