The Right Point of View

Creston (Ia.) American

Mr. Editor.

A recent issue of your paper contains an editorial in which you set forth your conceptions of Christian Science, and quote at some length from Science and Health, the text-book of Christian Science, by Mary Baker G. Eddy.

It must be remembered that Science and Health is written from a standpoint of the spiritual and ideal man, and also that the Bible, in its clearer teachings relative to man and especially in the first chapter of Genesis wherein is given an account of the creation of the perfect and ideal man, is written from the same standpoint. Into this idealism, the material element does not enter. Man created "in the image and likeness of God" is necessarily spiritual and perfect, and it is this man, or this conception of mankind, that Science and Health recognizes as spiritually perfect and exempt from the conditions of materialism which seem to govern the human or mortal sense of things.
