The Lectures

The first public Christian Science lecture at Greenback Mining Camp, Ore. (formerly known as Placer), was given on the evening of January 29 to a large audience in Greenback Hall by Carol Norton, C.S.D., of New York. The practical worth of Christian Science to people in all walks of life was well shown in the attentive audience that welcomed Mr. Norton's helpful lecture. The work already accomplished by Christian Science in these mining lands in elevating the moral tone, increasing Bible study and spiritual thinking, and in physical healing, proves the great utility of this religion and the discerning judgment of our loved Leader, Mrs. Eddy. Mr. Norton was introduced by Mrs. Clara Willson Thompson, First Reader of the local society.
