For the benefit of suffering humanity, I wish to give my testimony of healing.
In the latter part of April, 1893, I became afflicted with cancer. The disease progressed rapidly and became very painful. A friend had previously called my attention to Christian Science and gave me the text-book to read, but I could not catch the idea and so could not understand it, and although not unfriendly, I allowed the reading of it to drop. After a short time my complaint got so bad that I was compelled to take up Science and Health again. I say compelled, for I was impelled in some manner to do this; it seemed to be my only salvation, and I finally applied for treatment. The good, reassuring letters I received seemed to lift me up from the start. I procured a copy of Science and Health and studied faithfully. My healing was very slow but I clung to my only hope; however, from the first treatment the character of the disease seemed to change and it developed much more slowly.
In the earlier part of October a violent upheaval set in, it was both mental and physical. In my distress I wrote to the practitioner, saying I would go to him. He answered, saying I could do so if I chose, but that there was no necessity for it, and explained what the trouble was. This reassured me, and that night I woke up to find myself healed. The growth was cold as ice, and it immediately turned black and soon dropped off.
