Christian Science came to me at a time when everything was so dark, that life seemed a burden instead of a pleasure. I had had hip-disease for nearly seven years, and had undergone an operation by one of the best surgeons in this city without receiving any benefit. I also had lung trouble and heart failure, and had inherited an extremely sensitive nature. I was a most miserable woman. Night after night, when I retired, I would pray that I might go to sleep and never awaken, for there seemed no help or rest for me. But as the darkest hour always precedes the dawn, so it was in my case; for it was at this time that I was led to try Christian Science. From that day to this, I have been gradually improving, and am now free mentally and physically. Words fail to express my gratitude to Mrs. Eddy for "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," which has opened my understanding and led me to the freedom which I now enjoy.

Through the understanding of God that I have in Christian Science. I have been enabled to heal a case of alcoholism of twenty years' standing, a case of whooping cough in one week, one of malignant diphtheria and croup in one night.—Mrs. L. B. Lord, New York, N. Y.
