Gratitude

My heart is full of gratitude for the knowledge of Love that Christian Science brings to us. In the Sentinel of February 6, is this sentence: "I have to work alone, yet I know I am not alone, for God is my ever-present help."

These words came in the Sentinel to my daughter, who was alone in a western state. Her husband was in the east, and there was no one in the village who trusted in God for physical healing. The younger boy, over two years of age, was stricken with an attack of acute vomiting. This was on Friday. The error held out against her realizations of Truth, and on Sunday, with telegraphic communication suspended, her fears were magnified, and the dear little fellow's condition almost tempted her to use remedies. In a lull of the work, the new Sentinel was taken up, and the sentence quoted was the friendly hand of hope and cheer. With renewed courage, and although struggling against her own physical ills, she clung to God, and Love answered. The boy fell into a quiet, restful sleep, and in the morning he was all right.

Each week the Sentinel comes like a loving friend, with cheer and word of progress that tells us that "He that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep." Reading the Sentinel of March 6, so full of good thoughts and helpful illustrations, I said I must testify of the benefits received.
