My whole life had been a gloomy one, regularly despondent spells would come, making myself and all about me very unhappy. After years of poor health, nervous prostration came on, which caused great suffering for about three years. It is nearly four years since the Truth came into our home, that had been so filled with trouble and sickness; debts had accumulated, my husband and myself perfectly hopeless. Physicians said I could never be well. Now, I am a well woman; my housework and sewing taken up again; my three children kept well and happy. With them many cases of sickness have been quickly met, croup and measles among them. Other members of the family are receiving the benefits of this Truth.
We know that God is all, and we have only to acknowledge Him in all our ways to receive the blessing. We have our work to do that He has given us, "the strength is all His own." When ready to unite with the Christian Science Church, I asked dismissal from the Episcopal Church of Escanaba, Mich., of which I was a member and received a kindly letter in reply.
I truly desire to express my gratitude to our Leader, also to the Scientists here who have helped me up out of bondage "into the glorious liberty of the children of God."
