When we begin to understand even a little of Christian Science, our old way of thinking begins to disappear. One by one we put away the old beliefs and realize the true way of thinking; then we begin to see the power of this right way of thinking, for, as our old beliefs brought out conditions corresponding to our thoughts, just so do the better, truer thoughts we entertain, bring out more harmonious conditions. Christian Science is constantly changing every thought, reversing it often, and this change for the better is applied successfully in every phase of existence. The confusion and worry which fear induces, begins to disappear, and here again we feel the power of Christian Science in a sense of freedom, because we get an understanding of the ever-presence and power of God, which quickly supplants the faithless sense of fear.

Before understanding anything of Christian Science, I secretly entertained the idea that I would not live long, because of physical ailments which I could not get rid of, including malaria. After learning a little of this great Truth of Being, I began to change my way of thinking, having less fear and more faith in the ever-presence of God. I gradually rid myself of the conditions which my wrong thoughts produced, and I found that instead of physical healing, I needed mental healing. It was restful to grasp and understand the right way of thinking, and it was not long before I realized that I could adjust my wearing apparel in the morning as soon as I arose, instead of waiting for a couple of hours until the body assumed a less swollen appearance.

Another instance of healing revealed to us the absolute fact, that the absence of fear, and the faith and trust in the Great Physician's ever-presence and omnipotence had overcome in less than a day, the claim of measles, that was manifested all over the body, including the eyes. The child was perfectly healed.
