I wish to tell of my experience with quinsy sore throat

I wish to tell of my experience with quinsy sore throat. I cannot remember the winter, or even the summer, from the time I was a child of five until Christian Science came to me, that I did not suffer almost constantly with my throat. I suffered nearly three weeks with the last attack which I had, before I went to a practitioner for help. I was reading Science and Health and had been reading it for some time, and I was trying to do what I could for myself. I was away from home, and my father, hearing of my condition, sent for me at once. Upon reaching home he insisted upon my having some help. A healer was sent for, but the first two or three days there seemed to be no relief whatever. For nearly three weeks I had taken no solid food, and it was with difficulty that I swallowed liquid food. On the fifth morning my father came to my room and asked me if there was anything he could do for me. I remember well the reply I made. I asked him just to let me die in peace, as I could not endure the suffering any longer. But somehow after he left me I arose and dressed and went to the home of the practitioner. I never quite knew how I got there. As soon as I reached her home she made me comfortable in a big chair and began working for me. I remained with her for dinner at twelve o'clock, and at that time I ate a dinner of beef soup and cracker, and went home perfectly healed, not a particle of soreness left in my throat. From that day to this I have not had the slightest return of the old trouble.

Alice Pierce, Cleveland. O.

I feel it my duty to write a testimonial of the light and happiness that have been brought into our home through Christian Science by the healing of our daughter. Eleven years ago she was taken with a nervous trouble from which she suffered everything. Night after night my husband and I sat and held her in our arms that she might get her much-needed rest. We were living at Phelps, N. Y., at that time, and had physicians from there, also from Geneva, and we took her to Rochester and to Clifton Springs. She grew better, but had terrible spells with her breathing, and eating the slightest amount of food caused a sensation of smothering. We moved to Batavia seven years ago and she doctored more or less since that time, till she felt discouraged and said she didn't believe she ever would get well, but the raising of her sister from a deathbed led her to Christian Science, and by Christian Science she was healed. She also had very weak eyes, and said she wished the light were brighter, so she could see. The light has come, but it is God's light, and that is the light of the world.
