The Lectures
Devotees of the faith given to the world by Mrs. Mary Beker Eddy assembled in Powers' Opera House last night (Tuesday, October I) to hear an address on Christian Science by Edward A. Kimball. C.S.D., of Chicago. Nearly every available seat in the parquet was filled, many seats in the balcony, and the boxes were occupied.
It was an eminently intelligent and well-dressed audience and the ladies and gentlemen were about equally divided in number. A public speaker could hardly ask closer attention than was accorded Mr. Kimball from the opening to the close of his address. His advantage of speaking on a subject in which nearly all present were intensely interested and his pleasant address and commanding presence all contributed to a most enjoyable and helpful evening for all present.—The Grand Rapids Herald.
The lecturer was introduced by Mr. John Carveth as follows:—
