Christian Science brings Many Blessings
I was invited to attend Christian Science services at a neighbor's house three years ago. As I had been to call on them in a social way, and found them pleasant people, I went to one service, and then decided not to stop until I knew how the works were accomplished of which I heard them speak. I found in a short time that I could demonstrate the Truth, and that error in all forms could be overcome. The Bible became a new book. I got all the Christian Science literature. I took treatment for a short time, and to-day, I would not go back to the old way for anything.
I was healed of constipation of years' standing. I had tried differently medicines and doctors, but I saw myself getting constantly worse. When Christian Science found me I was miserable, and had exhausted material remedies. I was greatly benefited for catarrh of the head, and never have the headache any more. This past winter I was healed of a severe attack of grip in a few days. My husband and two daughters soon saw how much I was helped, and they all commenced attending the meetings with me. My husband has been greatly benefited in many ways.
My husband and I are members of First Church of Christ, Scientist, of Chanute. We have a chartered church, and it is with the greatest pleasure we look back over the past three years and see the demonstrations made in our church work. We met for a short time at the home of Mr. and Mrs. C. I. Williams, who are the First and Second Readers in our church. But the meetings were so well attended that we had to rent a room down town in a very short time. We now have our room neatly furnished, a carpented rostrum, matting on the aisles, and an organ. We use our church room for a Christian Science reading room during the week. We had a lecture last November, by Judge Clarkson of Omaha, Neb. It is surprising how much a few can accomplish in Christ's name. The people here in general feel kindly toward Christian Science.
