Faith in the Bible Restored

I was raised to believe in the Bible. My parents said, "Attend any Protestant church." For some time I tried to follow what I believed the Bible to teach, but not being able to see any particular results, discarded all belief in the Bible.

About seven years ago I became acquainted with a Scientist family and made considerable fun of their belief, but read some of their literature. After quite a struggle with myself in re-accepting the Bible as authority, I concluded that "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" contained the Truth.

I did not take up Christian Science for physical healing, but because it seemed to be reasonable. While an understanding of Christian Science heals the sick, the main object is to make Christians, and healing the sick follows as a necessary accompaniment. If I cannot heal the sick there is something lacking in my Christianity. My wife and myself have found the Truth equal to overcoming numerous troubles, and it is our only physician. We are expressing our gratitude to our Leader by living up to our highest understanding of Truth. We became members of the Mother Church last November.
