The Lectures

The widespread interest that is taken in the doctrines of Christian Science was clearly manifested at the Victory Theatre last evening (Thursday, March I), the occasion being the address of Hon. William G. Ewing of Chicago, who had announced as his topic "Christian Science, the Religion of Jesus Christ." Judge J. R. Lewis introduced the speaker as follows:—

Since the masterly argument of Paul before Agrippa, humanity has been continually in the pursuit of the truth as to Jesus Christ, his mission and laws. For many centureis immediately succeeding Paul, men were so hedged about with laws regulating their beliefs and controlling their conscience, and limiting their speech, that even the right of free thought was scarcely accorded, for free thought without free speech is little worth.
