Valvular Heart Disease

I was born with valvular heart disease, and up to my early manhood was a chronic invalid. Finally, the physicians having said there was no help for me, my mother suggested my trying Christian Science as a last resort, which I did.

I well remember that first treatment! I was not a believer in any sense, so that the spectacle of a woman sitting with her eyes closed for a few moments, with the idea that she could help me, seemed, at the time, farcical and absurd. That night for the first time in many months I rested, and in the morning the ridicule had departed and I realized that I stood in the presence of a great Power. Suffice it to say that in less than three months I was healed, and for nearly fifteen years I have demonstrated the efficacy of Christian Science as a preventive and restorative therapeutical agency.

I immediately sought for the reason of my healing, and I found it in the Bible, our guide-book to life eternal, the spiritual truths of which have been brought to us through the divine revelation to our beloved Mother, and recorded for our daily help in Science and Health.
