The Lectures
Under the auspices of First Church of Christ, Scientist, of San Diego, Cal., A. A. Sulcer, M.D., C.S.B., delivered a lecture Thursday evening, September 28, at Fisher Opera House, to a large and appreciative audience. The speaker took for his theme "The Science of Christian Science," handling the subject in a masterly and convincing manner, especially emphasizing its higher mission of cleansing from sin as well as the healing of merely physical ailments. The speaker was introduced by C. Henry Clark, First Reader of the church, who spoke as follows:—
Ladies and Gentlemen:— Your presence here to-night shows that the subject upon which the speaker will address us has met with enough consideration upon your part, to awaken a desire for more light upon it. It is for the purpose of meeting this sober inquiry with reliable information that able lecturers have been placed in the Field who are qualified to speak upon this subject.
