A Pleasant Incident
During the month of August, while their own church was undergoing repairs and redecoration, the congregation of First Church of Christ, Scientist, in St. Louis, held its services in Temple Israel, located in the same block, the beautiful place of worship of a large and influential Jewish congregation. Several of the members of the Scientist Church were old business friends of the Trustees of the Jewish Temple, and upon their need being made known the use of the edifice was most cordially granted, — a proposition to pay rent being instantly vetoed.
At the last Wednesday evening meeting held in the Temple, the following resolutions were offered, and were adopted by a unanimous vote of the congregation : —
Whereas, the Board of Trustees of Temple Israel have given to the congregation of First Church of Christ, Scientist, the free use of this edifice during the month of August, 1899, for our Sunday and Wednesday meetings, and,
