Why couldn’t I have a healing, too?

Originally published in French

It’s been roughly two years now since I first heard about Christian Science through someone my mom knows. I began studying it right away. I am the only Christian Scientist in my home.

At one point, I was suffering from earaches. It was unbearably painful. My dad is a doctor, and he prescribed some medication. But I found that the more I took the medication, the worse I felt. I was supposed to take it for two weeks, but I stopped on the third day. Instead, I read the Bible, Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy, and some of Mrs. Eddy’s other books.

I decided to rely on Christian Science for healing because I was fed up with taking medication, especially since it wasn’t helping. I was learning about healing through prayer, and I had heard about others who had experienced healings. So, I thought, why couldn’t I have a healing, too?
