Merry Christmas—regardless!!

My wife and I were having some family members and a close friend over for dinner on Christmas Day. My wife is an excellent cook, and we were all looking forward to our get-together.

I was in the kitchen carving the turkey when our guests arrived. As I went to greet them, I was suddenly stricken with terrible pains. This certainly wasn’t in my holiday plans, and it threatened to ruin our celebration.

I excused myself, because I needed space—mental and physical—to pray about this condition. It was natural for me to turn to prayer for help. I’ve been an active Christian Scientist for many years. I’ve prayed about all sorts of challenges and have had many healings.
