Saving the planet—one prayer at a time

Live audio chat with Deborah Huebsch, C.S.B.

"As we purify our lives, we are having an impact on the environment," says Deborah. She explains, "Every time we recognize the presence and power of God, it's a healing influence. . . . I think it's important that we as individuals take our place in caring for the planet, wanting to be healers." While responding to questions from site visitors, Deborah brings out the certainty of God's law and the actual spiritual nature of Earth, which is unpolluted, can't be degraded or contaminated.

Among the issues covered are: How to keep from feeling that it's futile to pray when the environmental challenges are so great; how to convince those in power that something needs to be done—and also making sure that one is actually getting the truth about these situations and not being manipulated. The chat also covered dealing with apathy about the environment and feeling that one's personal problems are much more important; how a healing mental atmosphere can purify the environment, purify the ocean, and stabilize the weather. And the chat also brought up prayer about fracking.
