As long as we’re looking exclusively to divine Spirit, it doesn’t matter if God’s healing insights come as a series of subtle, quiet epiphanies or in a single, momentous blast.
Seeing as God, Spirit, sees involves recognizing that the perfection of spiritual being is the only reality of existence and that anything discordant is the darkness, which must disappear in the light of God’s infinite goodness, here and now.
Getting to know God better—and getting to know ourselves better as God’s spiritual image—helps us be more receptive to “God’s unerring direction.” This certainly brought out a harmonious and permanent freedom from addiction for my friend.
Christian Science boldly states to the world that our true lives are found in Spirit. Those who cling to the popular belief that life resides in matter—that we are merely or largely flesh and blood—may doubt, even oppose, Christian Science. But that does not change its truthfulness or threaten its existence.
Yielding to the truth that each of us is Love’s creation has increasingly enabled me—despite anyone’s devaluating actions and my reactions to them—to perceive God’s love for them and me, to acknowledge what that means God knows us to be, and to recognize that I can love.
