Leaning on God leads to healing

As a civil engineering major, I was required to take a very intense three-week class. I learned how to do surveying, which includes measuring angles, elevation, and distance around a plot of land in many different ways. The class went from 7:30 in the morning to 6:00 in the evening, requiring me to be outside in the field all day.

On the second day of class, I woke up with a terrible sore throat and felt just awful. One of my first thoughts was that there was no way I could miss a single day because of the intensity of this class. But I also thought, “I can’t do this on my own.” I didn’t feel strong enough to get through the day, let alone mentally clear enough to do all the math problems I was facing.

At that moment, I was so grateful for what I knew about God from attending Christian Science Sunday School. I think of God as a fathering, mothering presence. God’s power is infinite, all-intelligent, and all-good, and that envelops everything, everywhere, including me.
