The first healing I remember
When I was a small child, I lived on the first floor of a large Victorian house with my mom, dad, and sister. My grandparents lived on the second floor.
This was a fun place to live. There was a barn to play in, a pond to wade in during the summer and skate on in the winter, and a hill to slide down.
Every day after work, my grandfather would drive up the driveway and honk his horn. Then my sister and I and our friends would jump into the back of the truck, and he would drive past the barn and out to the next street. Around the block we would go, laughing.
